Scan date received and the date arrives

I received a call from the hospital with a date for the scan which was 18th June.  I was given instructions to drink plenty of fluids.  I called Dawn to let her know I had a date for the scan as I'd be instructed to do.  She said they'd look out for the results.

I arrived for my appointment and was called in to have a cannula in my hand through which the dye would be injected.    Whilst sat waiting for to be called in for the scan, I spotted some screens ....maybe for people who pass out on the floor so they can be given privacy ..... they did kind of remind of something out of The Royal, the tv series set in the 1960s.   I love taking photographs and have done for years so my eyes are always open for something to capture.

I was called in to the scan room and was asked if I had wires in my bra!!   Oh yes I replied.   Titty didn't go anywhere without wires.  I was asked to remove it and slip on a gown (whilst in the corner of the room ... not sure why they didn't ask me to do this in the privacy of a changing room which was there)... but hey ho.  .

I was guided to lay on the contraption that would thrust me into the CT scanner!   I was told that I might experience a warm feeling as if I were about to wet myself.   Unusually, I went in feet first.   Now, I'm not a fan of being scanned.   I don't like confined spaces so I have to close my eyes and recite the serenity prayer over and over and over until I hear the words "all done".    And that warm "I''ve pissed myself feeling did come" and go !!

The serenity prayer has gotten me through many situation including a partially detached retina that was lasered back into place whilst wide awake !!   Whatever works though is ok by me.

Love Titty and Tracey

A blast of radiotherapy

I didn't think I would write in this blog again as I just didn't want to write about the cancer anymore.  However, a friend said to ...
